What your artists expect from YOU. Weddings are tough! Planning a wedding is one of the most difficult tasks a woman will have to juggle on top of work, family, and social life. If I could go back I would have taken a friend's advice and hired a planner. I truly believe this is a very solid wedding day investment. But, that being said you will still have to sweat the details... hair and makeup looks. What can you do to make the overall experience easy on you AND your artists? You would be surprised how often I show up for a trial and a soon to be bride has literally no idea what they would like to do. I mean not even a vague idea! If you know nothing else in advance please try to at least have your hairstyles narrowed down to up, half up, or completely down. And for makeup, you should know if you would like it to be more natural or dramatic. Please try to at least have your hairstyles narrowed down to up, half up, or completely down. And for makeup you should know if you would like it to be more natural or dramatic. Ladies, it's sad but true, Pinterest will be your best friend! There is an endless amount of ideas for everything packed into one little app. I LOVE when brides have photos! It saves so much time during the consultation trying to figure out your needs when we can defer straight to a photo and discuss what you like about it. It's even okay to have multiple photos and show us what you like from different styles. Just always have a photo!
While we are talking photos, let me be honest about something. You HAVE to have realistic expectations. You cannot show me an inspiration photo of Blake Lively when you have somewhat fine, shoulder length hair. It's not happening lady! And if this is something you are determined to achieve you have to be open to a discussion about extensions. Please save us from an awkward conversation in which I might have to say "that's impossible." And finally, be honest. Our job is to make you happy on your wedding day. If you look in the mirror during your trial and don't feel beautiful and perfect, you will have the same feeling on your big day every time you see your reflection. Most artists have been in the industry for years and have worked with hundreds of brides. Our skin is quite thick and personally I prefer a bride that can just say it like it is. It will save us both time and stress in the end. Our goal is simple; to deliver a happy, beautiful bride. Stay Lovely Ladies!

I think we can all appreciate the convenience and, more importantly, the price point of drugstore brand hair products. But do you always get what you pay for? In the back of our minds, we question the quality of drugstore brand products as well as the affect the products will have on the health of our hair. Drugstore brands are able to keep their prices low because they spend less in areas that in no way affect the quality of the product, such as packaging and marketing. However, quality is compromised when they choose their active ingredients in most cases. Professional grade products are loaded with natural and superior ingredients, sourced from all over the world. Drugstore ingredients, which are synthetic instead of natural, are typically mass produced in labs and factories. So, are the inexpensive products ineffective and horrible for the health of your hair? No. Through trial and error, I've found many of the the drugstore brand hair products to perform just as well as professional products. And in regards to the health of your hair, products do not make it to the shelves if they're believed to cause hair loss, cancer, scalp irritation, or any other red flag symptoms. For most people, I recommend using a minimum of three products in their post-shampoo regimen. A prep product is used to prepare the hair for styling by evening porosity, detangling, and providing thermal protection. A styling product gives the hair its memory and hold, such as a gel, mousse, or styling creme. And finally, the finishing product is used to enhance and preserve the style. Find your hair type below and the three drugstore products that I recommend for you! Your wallet will thank you! In my experience, clients are constantly riddled with the question, "Should I be using dry shampoo to preserve my blowouts?" Dry shampoos are in fact meant to combat those pesky oils at the scalp that lead to a premature wash. However, just like any hair care product, you have to utilize a dry shampoo that works best for you! My Top 4 Dry Shampoos:
